Instructors

Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Detrick W. Thomas is the Senior Aerospace Instructor (SASI) for the Texas 935th Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC), Connally High School, Waco, Texas and partners with Sergeant Christian as classroom instructor, logistics manager and special team coach.  Chief Thomas grew up in Beaumont, Texas and entered the Air Force in 1995. He has an extensive Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Maintenance background and has worked multiple jobs throughout the Missile Maintenance and Logistics squadrons and groups.  He also served four years as a Non-commissioned Officer Academy Instructor and superintendent. . His assignments included bases in Texas, California, North Dakota and Mississippi. Before assuming his current position, Chief Thomas  was assigned as Chief Enlisted Manager for the 705th Munitions Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. He was responsible for 271 Nuclear Weapon and Missile Maintenance Technicians performing storage, maintenance, and handling of 491 Air Launched Cruise Missiles in support of the 5th Bomb Wing and 155 Minuteman III Reentry Systems for the 91st Missile Wing’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile fleet. He retired from active duty 1 September 2021 after 26 plus years of service. Chief Thomas is married to Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Becky Thomas (Patterson) and together they have four children:  Domonic, Kristopher, Sophie, and Hawke.
